Last week, my good friend and I decided to
take a trip to Scotland! We had been to many places already seeking new places
to explore and sights to see; we had been to Liverpool, Birmingham, London and
Manchester already so decided to try something new and ventured out into the
city of Edinburgh. We left early in the morning, arriving at the train station.
The journey took approximately three hours. Throughout our journey, as we
passed through the Lake District all we could see was the beautiful scenery...
and rain.
As we arrived in Edinburgh fortunately it
was not rainy or wet; despite it being cloudy, it was not cold and a
temperature of 16 degrees made the day enjoyable.
We visited Multrees Walk, a street housing designer and luxury stores such as Louis Vuitton, Burberry and Tommy Hilfiger, as well as an impressive five-storey Harvey Nichols store. We ate at YO! Sushi which was located in the Harvey Nichols store, on the top floor (service was excellent and food was prepared very quickly) along with the Harvey Nichols food market, chocolate lounge and brasserie/restaurant
After seeing the shopping Edinburgh has on offer we went to the Princess street gardens where there were amazing views of the Scott monument and the rest of Edinburgh's architecturally outstanding buildings. Here there were large spaces for picnics and barbecues.
Right next to the gardens there was the Scottish national gallery, which housed a number of magnificent paintings. Admission for the gallery was free and you could stay as long as you wanted, to roam around and have a look.
All pictures were taken by me.
