day out in Edinburgh

Last week, my good friend and I decided to take a trip to Scotland! We had been to many places already seeking new places to explore and sights to see; we had been to Liverpool, Birmingham, London and Manchester already so decided to try something new and ventured out into the city of Edinburgh. We left early in the morning, arriving at the train station. The journey took approximately three hours. Throughout our journey, as we passed through the Lake District all we could see was the beautiful scenery... and rain.
As we arrived in Edinburgh fortunately it was not rainy or wet; despite it being cloudy, it was not cold and a temperature of 16 degrees made the day enjoyable.

We visited Multrees Walk, a street housing designer and luxury stores such as Louis Vuitton, Burberry and Tommy Hilfiger, as well as an impressive five-storey Harvey Nichols store. We ate at YO! Sushi which was located in the Harvey Nichols store, on the top floor (service was excellent and food was prepared very quickly) along with the Harvey Nichols food market, chocolate lounge and brasserie/restaurant

After seeing the shopping Edinburgh has on offer we went to the Princess street gardens where there were amazing views of the Scott monument and the rest of Edinburgh's architecturally outstanding buildings. Here there were large spaces for picnics and barbecues.

Right next to the gardens there was the Scottish national gallery, which housed a number of magnificent paintings. Admission for the gallery was free and you could stay as long as you wanted, to roam around and have a look.

mens luxury watch gift guide

Struggling to find a gift for a watch fanatic? Whether it be a boyfriend or husband, here are a few of my picks of watches ranging from £500 to £30,000 using the Selfridges Wonder Room.

£500-£1,000

This watch retails for £525 and is a great pick for a stylish and sophisticated guy. The blue face gives the watch a cool look while keeping it classy with the traditional stainless steel straps.

'This gucci watch has been crafted from stainless steel for a sleek finish. adorned with a striking blue dial and solid three link bracelet strap'

This watch retails for £950. It's slightly more chunky and bolder and the dark face makes it perfect with any outfit.

'The Formula 1 polished stainless steel watch features quartz movement and exceptional durability due to the scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, this timepiece is complete with an impressive 200-metre water resistance'

 £1,000-£5,500

This watch retails for £5,100. Even though this watch is above £5000 I thought I had to include it since it was a classic timepiece. The square shape gives it a refined look and is different to the usual round watch face.

The watch features a steel case, nine sided crown set sapphire crystal, finiliquè dial and blue sword hands.
The watch is available in SMALL (£3900) LARGE (£5,100) X-LARGE (£5,700)

'Floating like a balloon and as blue as the sapphire safely nestled in its side, the Balloon Bleu stainless steel is guaranteed to add a dash of elegance'
£10,000+

'Add a dose of luxury to everyday looks with this £16,100 watch. Boasting precise mechanical manufacture high-frequency chronograph (5Hz) with automatic winding, this timepiece has an impressive 50 hour power reserve. Decorated with perlage, côtes de Genève and chamfering finishing, the watch is built with a transparent case back and luminescent applies indexes.'

'This £26,370 watch is inspired by the beauty of classic cars. Featuring luminescent arabic numerals and hands. Complete with an 18 carat rose gold strap, this time piece is the perfect balance of automobile design and mechanical watchmaking'

All watches shown are from Selfridges and available to purchase.

Mens Spring Fashion 2017 Trends

The Holdall
Yet again the holdall is back on the runways for another season, proving it is still stylish and sophisticated. Designers have used iconic bags such as the Birkin and created it into a larger masculine version. The holdall is perfect for taking to the gym, a weekend away or even for work. The famous Louis Vuitton Keepall has been inspiration for many bags, and this season they have released some new mens bags which have a peculiar resemblance to the hermes Birkin.

LOUIS VUITTON                                               HERMES
 VALENTINO                                                                       FENDI
 Camouflage
camouflage is a print that is now firmly entrenched with many mens wardrobes and seen often on the runway. Bottega Veneta kept things traditional with utilising khaki with sweaters, whereas italian luxury label Valentino gave this timeless military motif a sophisticated- look using it as the upper part of a coat.

Stripe
This season sees luxury designers putting all new slants on stripes. from vivid block stripes knits to wide striped tailoring, this timeless motif has been re-imagined for the coming months.

dyson supersonic

Recently i had purchased the latest release from british technology company Dyson, the Dyson supersonic hairdryer. This new hairdryer looks very different from your regular one. The small head means it gives a perfect balance and is not uncomfortable to gold for long periods of time.
this new gadget uses new technology including a V9 motor which sits a little below where you hand sits.

The supersonic uses Air multiplier Technology, meaning it amplifies the volume of air, therefore taking less time to dry your hair. air temperature is measured 20 times every second, keeping the temperature under control, preventing extreme hair damage and protects natural shine.

As for noise the new supersonic is pretty quite compare too your conventional salon hairdryer, this is because extra blades make the sound of the motors less irritating.

The hairdryer comes with magnetic attachments, so you can adjust quickly and easily.

items included in the box are :

  • diffuser
  • smoothing nozzle
  • styling concentrator
  • storage hanger
  • non slip mat

The diffuser (left)  evenly disperses airflow to dry curs gently and help reduce frizz.
The styling concentrator (top right) is fast, precise and is good for controlled styling, one section at a time.
The smoothing nozzle (bottom right) dries hair gently using smooth air.
The hairdryer is controlled by just four buttons,

  • 4 precise heat settings,100°C Fast drying and styling,80°C Regular drying,60°C Gentle drying,28°C Constant cold
  • 3 precise speed settings, Fast drying , Regular drying and Styling
  • ON/OFF button
  • Cold Shot press and hold to deactivate heat and set style.

overall i think this hairdryer is a great gadget. Hair is dried fast and efficiently with less fuss and noise, the only down point of this product is the hefty price, £299 for a hairdryer but i guess this hairdryer goes a long way and will last you a while.
The dyson supersonic is available in 2 colour ways.
White/Silver
Fuchsia/Iron

The item is available to order now

Mini Gucci Unboxing

On my trip to Monaco I stopped by at the Gucci store on on 1-3-5 avenue de Monte Carlo after having a look around the gorgeous store with bags, shoes and accessories on the top floor and ready to wear on the bottom, I asked if they had an item that I had my eye on for so long in store.

When I saw this item I knew I had to add it and told them I would take it! They placed it in a gorgeous Gucci box with black trim and a simple yet sophisticated logo in the centre, followed by a delicate Gucci embossed ribbon tied around.
The customer service was incredible and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
a link to this product will be placed at the bottom of this blogpost.

The item I had picked was the Gucci bio-plastic iPhone 6 case. The case is made in Italy and is covered by the signature Gucci monogram and Gucci lettering at the bottom. The case has a great grip (due to the crevices of the monogram) and comfortable to hold. The iPhone case is also available in a red colour but I opted to go with black. Due to the fact it is made of plastic it is not heavy or uncomfortable to hold.
